Objective: Strengthen the "in-class" realtime feedback loop between teachers giving points and students being motivated to earn points through positive behavior. Do this so that...
Measurement: Usability Test (qualitative), Engagement (quantitative).
LiveSchool is an EdTech startup that measures and helps to improve kids' behaviors in k12 schools in the United States.
The project
- Discovery;
- Ideation;
- Design and Rapid Prototyping
After surveys and interviews we identified that most teachers use:
- A tablet or mobile in class;
- LiveSchool in the background;
- Documentation and sharing of benchmarking made in Confluence
- Projector in the classroom showing the lesson plan.

Using the Sync functionality
LiveSchool already had a brilliant sync feature. It works like this:
If the same account is logged in on other devices, they auto-sync in real time and seamlessly.
The problem is that about 70% of teachers did not know it.
Using LiveSchool in the background
One simple thing to do and one that has a big impact is browser notifications.
If we could educate users to use sync mode with notifications we would have a big impact without much effort.
The problem is that about 70% of teachers did not know it.
Testing the Remote Control
We developed a high-fidelity prototype for usability testing to further refine this feature. The new functionality has now been fully implemented, with results showing a 40% increase in user adoption among teachers.
