The Project

Vodafone aimed to provide a consistent user experience globally, necessitating a robust, accessible design system. I led the creation of this system, meticulously listing and grouping design elements from atomic levels to components, and integrating them into the InVision Design System Manager. Designers could then effortlessly drag and drop elements, enabling rapid prototyping and lean UX.

Objectives

Our primary goals included improving design and development efficiency, ensuring components fit within technical constraints, and managing stakeholders from six different countries. We conducted usability tests with the My Vodafone App (MVA) to ensure components were fit for use within tech constraints and addressed varying technical requirements across markets.

Results

Our efforts improved design and development efficiency by an estimated 40%. Regular cross-cultural communication sessions, feedback loops, and collaborative workshops ensured alignment and efficiency. The design system facilitated rapid prototyping, lean UX, and consistent user experience across all Vodafone markets, overcoming cultural barriers and technical differences. After one year, we successfully migrated the entire design system to Figma, further enhancing our design capabilities and collaboration.
